..... It’s everywhere, it’s the internet. Today’s word is 'internet'! What we’re working on today is pronouncing the word 'internet', or (IN-ner-ned), like a native English speaker. When a native speaker says this word quickly they completely drop the T and 'in-ter-net' will sound like 'IN-ner-ned.' Why don’t you repeat after me? IN-ner-ned So there’s no T sound at all. Let’s just do the first part of the word: IN-ner IN-ner Repeat after me. IN-ner IN-ner Now let’s put it together with the last part of the word: IN-ner-ned You’ll even notice that with my American accent I do something to the T at the very end of this word where it sound a little bit more like a D...it’s like between a T a D sound. IN-ner-ned It’s a very, very soft T. Go ahead and try it with me. ned ned ned ned ned Net ...Without that T part… ned ned ned IN-ner-ned There’s another pronunciation of this word where you can say the T, the first T in the word anyway. And it sounds like: IN-ter-ned IN-ter-ned It sounds more like that. IN-ter-ned IN-ter-ned I’m going to give you a couple sample sentences so that you can practice this word within a sentence. It’s really important to practice whole sentences and whole phrases when you’re working with learning a language. Here is your sentence: “It must be true! I heard it on the Internet.” One more time...and make sure to drop the T...and just try this pronunciation of 'internet' for yourself: “It must be true! I heard it on the Internet.” Here’s another sentence for you, and this time we WILL leave the first T in. It’ll be a very soft T, but it WILL be pronounced. Repeat after me: “What Internet provider do you use?” Let’s say it one more time: “What Internet provider do you use?” Thanks for following along. I hope you’re enjoying this series on commonly mispronounced words. And I hope these short little videos have been helpful for you. Let me know in the comments section below what YOU use the internet for. So you can start your sentence like, “I usually use the Internet for school work."
